Minister Quevedo arrives in Egypt to participate in Egypt Petroleum Show

Caracas.- People’s Minister of Petroleum and President of Petróleos de Venezuela, S.A. (PDVSA), Manuel Quevedo, arrived in Cairo, capital of the Arab Republic of Egypt, to participate in the second edition of Egypt Petroleum Show, February 12 - 14.

Minister Quevedo will be a speaker at the Strategic Conference’s Ministerial Panel: “Inspiring, leading and creating opportunities that will transform the global energy landscape”. It will focus on: “supporting global progress to create collaboration and partnerships that help drive forward the global energy industry, foster progress, create new policies and provide encouragement; developing international frameworks to create growth, sustainable development and opportunity to help overcome country specific and industry challenges; and implementing, structuring and integrating visionary global initiatives that empower and optimize the oil and gas sector, strengthening the industry’s economic fundamentals and achieving a sustainable and successful energy future”.

Minister Quevedo is expected to meet with his counterpart from Egypt, Tarek El Molla, to discuss energy issues and strategic development plans for both countries.

Member nations of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), non-OPEC producers, as well as leading oil and gas companies from around the world will participate at Egypt Petroleum Show.

This event brings together the technology and innovation of Egyptian, regional and international exhibiting companies under one roof, showing a variety of oil and gas industry products and equipment from: Germany, Bahrain, Canada, Italy, China, France, Norway, Russia, Scotland, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and the United States.

Issues related to promoting industry growth, fostering strategic partnerships, creating investment opportunities, and improving industrial complementarity on a global scale will also be addressed.

Egypt Petroleum Show is occurring against an international backdrop of oil price recovery and market stability worldwide with Venezuela playing a key role under the leadership of President Nicolás Maduro.
